Why inpatient beds matter in rehabilitation
Outpatient physiotherapy assumes the patient can travel, tolerate a session and manage safely at home in between. In the first weeks after a major stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury or complex surgery, many patients cannot do any of those things. They may need help to turn in bed, have a feeding tube or tracheostomy, be at risk of chest infections or pressure sores, or need their blood pressure and blood sugar adjusted daily.
Inpatient rehabilitation brings the therapy to the patient. At CNR, admitted patients receive three to four therapy sessions a day across physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and swallow therapy, with round-the-clock nursing and 24×7 critical care cover in the same building.

Reaching CNR from across Hyderabad
CNR is on Chaitanyapuri Main Road (VR Colony, Pratap Nagar), just off the Dilsukhnagar main road, near the Dilsukhnagar and Chaitanyapuri stations on the Hyderabad Metro Red Line and close to NH65 through LB Nagar. From admission to going home
Admission usually starts with a call and a review of the discharge summary, after which the team confirms a bed and can arrange transfer by ambulance. Goals are set in the first days and reviewed with the family, who are encouraged to learn transfers, exercises and feeding techniques before discharge. As the patient becomes more independent, care steps down to day-care or outpatient sessions, with a structured home programme to continue at home.
